Sarah's Story

IRONMAN 70.3 Weymouth 2017 · 17 September 2017 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I always like to do something that will help make a difference, and this year is no exception. I have committed myself to the Ironman 70.3 Weymouth in September, not an easy event, but one I am really looking forward to - just a short swim (1.2miles), bike (56miles), and then a little run (13.1miles) - but all in aid of a good cause Day One Charity http://dayone.uk.com/about/. This local charity is close to my heart, not only because I live in Yorkshire, but also as my husband is a Doctor. There is always a lot of press around doctors, however we cannot do without these skilled medial and legal professional, plus you never know when you may need one!
This challenge will not be easy. Although my training has commenced, there is still a lot of hard work to do. From a girl who was told running was not the best thing for her (due to arthritis in my knees and feet) and could not even front crawl or done any open water swimming until 12month ago, I have come along way. This would not have been achieved without the support of friends and family, and I am hoping this will continue to allow me to achieve my next challenge.
I wanted to thank you in advance for your generosity, all donation are much appreciated, does not matter how small or large, every penny counts and supports for this great charity.
