My story

Hello friends/family members/collegues,

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

On Sunday 20th September 2009 I will undertake the challenge of the Great North Run for the second year running..... Yes, I am mad.

I managed a relatively respectable time of 1hr 41mins last year, but after a good year of training (with Mike's help!) I'm hoping to put that to shame and knock off decent number of minutes...... But I need your sponsorship as motivation to help me achieve it!!!!!

For those of you who sponsored me last year, you may remember I ran on behalf of the British Heart Foundation - a charity very close to my heart, even more so this year after my Dad suffered a second heart attack back in May. (Luckily Dezza is ok, thanks in no small way to the support of the BHF)

However, my choice of charity this year was swayed when my Grandpa fell ill later that month. He was looked after during his last few weeks by the very kind and caring staff at St Benedicts Hospice, and I wanted to show my support and appreciation for this worthy cause to help others in a similar position to Grandpa.

So please support this fantastic charity and help spur me on to achieve a faster time than last year!
