Ben Nevis Challenge · 24 August 2019 ·
On the 24th August 2019 myself and 28 amazing members of our local Fatburn Extreme Class #teamfabulous will be conquering the highest mountain in the British Isles.
Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would get an opportunity like this. This time last year I would never of had the confidence or belief in myself to even contemplate such a challenge. Since starting class a year ago my fitness levels have improved tenfold and I know that with the love and support of our amazing #teamfabulous we will get to the top and raise an amazing amount of money for such a fabulous charity.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love, support, belief and kind donation.....SJ xxx
All of this is in memory of a dear friend of one of our team. Please read the story below on how she came to organise such an amazing opportunity for us all......
On the 19th March last year, Scott, at the young age of 46, lost his short battle with cancer. Scott was a cracking guy, a true gent and also the husband of our friend Justine.
Justine has dealt with the last year with such resilience and is just simply the most caring and strongest person along with her two wonderful, wonderful kids, Andrew and Lucy.Scott fought heroically and he fought with courage and dignity spending his final days being cared for by the truly exceptional staff at St. Andrews Hospice in Airdrie. The care and attention Scott received was just remarkable. To honour Scott's memory, this year 28 members of #Team Fabulous are joining forces with #TeamDoc to take on the Ben Nevis challenge on the 24 August to raise essential funds for the Hospice.
With Scott always in our thoughts, this climb and all of the #TeamFabulous fundraising events will be in memory of all of the people who have spent their final days at the Hospice, along with their families and to contribute to the daily running and future use of the Hospice's services.
Thank you for your support - Love always #TeamDoc ~ #TeamFabulous xxx
St. Andrew’s Hospice endeavours to provide a high standard of specialist palliative care to the people of Lanarkshire, encompassing human dignity and compassion. As Lanarkshire's only specialist palliative care hospice, we provide multidisciplinary support for our patients, their families and carers. Whilst we receive funding from NHS Lanarkshire and other sources, this only partially covers our running costs. Continued provision of these services is only made possible by the generosity and assistance of the people of Lanarkshire.
