Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This May will be the 3rd year anniversary of losing my own father to metastatic malignant melanoma, aged just 61 years.

Skin cancer rates are rising and most cases of this disease can be prevented.  Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer.  It is claiming the lives of  people in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and older.  We can prevent the majority of cases through learning how to enjoy the sun safely and how to spot early signs of the different skin cancers.  As a dermatology nurse specialist and ambassador for charity Skcin I strongly believe in their aim which is to raise the much-needed awareness of skin cancer and how to enjoy the sun safely through education and prevention. Skcin are a unique charity, as they are solely dedicated to prevention and awareness and all of their work underpins this goal.

A 3 hour Jazzercise event will be held to raise much needed funds for registered charity Skcin. Please see www.skcin.org for all of the fabulous work they carry out.  All monies raised will be sent directly to Skcin.

We are aiming to raise £5,000 to help them continue their sun safe nurseries, schools and outside worker accreditations.  Any money you can spare to help us reach our total will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Sarah
