Story
Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!
Kaitlyn Klenbort Harris will turn three on the first of December. Each year, in lieu of gifts, we choose a charity to support in Kaitlyn's name.
In February of this year, we found out Kaitlyn is deaf. She now has two purple hearing aids that allow her to hear better, and she's learning to speak clearly. We're lucky to live in Australia, where hearing aids are free.
In the developing world, only one in forty people who need a hearing aid have one. The rate of hearing loss is far greater because many children and adults become deaf from untreated ear infections and preventable diseases.
This year we're supporting Sound Seekers, an excellent and efficient charity based in the UK that works to prevent and treat hearing loss in the developing world. It costs just ten pounds for them to give a reconditioned hearing aid to a child.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. And if you choose to give, thank you.
Yours gratefully,
Sarah Klenbort and Lee Harris (AKA Mama and Daddy)
P.S. Donating through JustGiving is secure. Your details are safe; they do not sell them on or send unwanted emails.
