Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Sarah Lilly's JustGiving page. Dig down deep into your pockets to help raise money for Cancer research.
I am running the Birmingham Half Marathon in October with a team of alumni, staff and students from the University of Birmingham. We are raising money for the University's cancer research, which is making significant advances in the fight against this disease.
Cancer researchers at the University have:
Reduced early diagnosed breast cancer mortality rates by 7%
Found ways of diagnosing childhood cancers without invasive procedures
Run a drug trial, which could reduce the risk of bladder cancer recurring by a third
Although I kick box 3/4 times a week that doesn't necessarily mean I can jog a half marathon at all. Running a half marathon requires a differnet type of endurance and training, so please make all the training worthwhile by sponsoring me! I need all the motivation I can get, so sponsor me, any words of wisdom or tips are also helpful.
I sprained my ankle Monday 29th August in a kick boxing injury. I have been unable to train and have been resting up. Luckily I think I am on the road to recovery. My ankle is doing a lot better than I thought it would be. I have returned to training being careful not to over do it and limiting myself to certain exercises. With the motivation and help from all my friends I am still going to partake in the half marathon and give it my best shot. If I have to walk a bit and run some I will. So add your support and sponser me, every pound helps and its for a very good cause.
Your donations will go directly to the cancer research team at the University.
Thank you!
