Challenge 8 for deb's 40 challenges B40 · 10 February 2014

Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. We provide information and support to patients and their families and help myeloma patients live longer, with a better quality of life by accelerating the discovery, development of and access to new treatments.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Sarah and Preeti  are raising money for Myeloma by abstaining from alcohol during Lent, starting on Wednesday 5 March for 40 days, in support of  Deb Gascoyne in her 40 challenges before 40.

Challenge 8 is to get 40 friends to be sponsored to give up something for the 40 days of Lent.
Like Deb, Sarah’s husband Henry has Myeloma which is an incurable blood cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow.  Absolutely everything in their lives changed when Henry was diagnosed in August 2011, but with continued support from family, friends, work colleagues and of course Myeloma UK they have helped get them through some dark times and continue to do so.

Preeti is taking part in a 40 day no alcohol challenge to raise money for Myeloma UK. Cancer has affected her life when she lost both her parents to it. All be it different cancers, this is a personal challenge for me which I hope will raise money and awareness.

Every £1 counts to raising money for research in the hope that one day a cure can be found.  Your donation is very much appreciated.
