I am going to cycle 330 miles across India in aid of Norwood charity in October/November. Norwood is one of the UK's major children and family services organisations, supporting children, families and adults coping with learning disabilities and social disadvantage. Every year Norwood helps thousands of people by providing vital, specialised care to the most vulnerable members of the community.
This will be a huge challenge for me in so many ways and I would love your support. Not only will it be a challenge to be without my layers of make up, hair straighteners or topshop capsule wardrobe for this time….but also as many of you know my athletic accomplishments to date consist of the 1 mile swimming badge.
Aside from the personal challenge this is a cause extremely close to my heart. When my Dad was younger, he lived in a foster home provided by Norwood. I feel the support of Norwood gave my Dad opportunities and an upbringing that made him who he is today…an amazing father who has given me every opportunity I could ever ask for. My Dad and I are both taking part in this challenge and I cannot wait to go through such an experience with him and pay back even the tiniest piece of gratitude, both to him and Norwood.
