Story

*****Update 04/08/2011*****

I just wanted to say thank you to all of those people who have so far donated to MNDA.

As most of you are aware, dad sadly lost his battle with this truly awful illness on Thursday 14th July (3wks today). I am so very proud of the strength and dignity he showed throughout the last 2 1/2 years.

I have decided to carry on raising money and most importantly to me, to raise awareness to honour dads memory. He really was my hero and I am going to miss him everyday for the rest of my life.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As Many of you know, my father was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2009.

Almost 2 years on from diagnosis we are dealing with the illness in the only way we know how. Spending quality time together and enjoying the laughter and drying the tears is what our family has done. We carry on as normal as much possible through this truly heartbreaking illness, although it is getting harder and harder. It is not only the person with MND that is affected (like any illness).

To watch anyone you love go through so much is tough and life changing in so many different ways. I have always loved my family and friends but now I cherish every minute and memory.

I have decided to help in as many ways as I can to  raise awareness of MND. Lots of people have never heard of it and often ask what it is and what happens. Trying to explain is not always easy but I do my best!

I know times are hard for all of us and everyone is pulling in the purse strings. Whatever you can spare, no matter how small it seems will soon add up and make a huge difference.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time and caring enough to read and donate

Love and Best Wishes

Sarahxx
