Avenue of Volcanoes · 29 November 2019

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

A little about the trek:

This November a team of 20 or so intrepid explorers and I will be travelling to Ecuador to climb four of the highest volcanoes in the world in an effort to raise money for the Prince's Trust. The highest peak we'll be attempting stands 5,897m above sea level (only two thirds the height of Everest!!!). Please donate!

If that doesn't convince you to donate, we're going to be climbing the last stretch (which is 100% ice and snow) IN THE DARK. We set off at 1am, climbing ice against sheer drops until we reach the summit some seven hours later. Please donate!!

If that isn't scary enough, Cotopaxi, the tallest of the lot is AN ACTIVE VOLCANO and its last eruption was only in 2016. Please donate!!!

A little about the Prince's Trust:

The Prince's Trust help disadvantaged young people across the UK into work, education or training. They run life-changing programmes for young people to improve their confidence and skills. We've had the privilege of hearing first hand the impact they've had on the lives of disadvantaged young people here in the UK and I feel really proud to be raising money for this cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
