I had what I would call a pretty normal childhood. 3 other siblings and parents still married who cared fantastically for us all. I took this for granted. 

Sadly not everyone has this, something I never thought about until I was in my 30's when learning of my now husbands childhood, if you can call it a childhood....

If I could have one wish it would be to correct that and give him the chocolate box childhood that he deserved and not the one he had. But I can't. 

What I can do is raise money for the unsung charity that gave him support later in life, and without whom we probably wouldn't have the happy marriage that we have now.

I have never really run before but decided I would give it a go for this very special charity. To raise funds and show them in a small way my appreciation for the work they do each day, and the lives they help to get back on track so that the unhappy childhood doesn't fester away too much into an unhappy adulthood.
