Story

Hi there and thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

In a moment of madness I have signed up to cycle from Edinburgh to London to raise money for the international humanitarian charity 'Right to Play'. The journey involves cycling for just under 500 miles, starting at Edinburgh Castle in Scotland on 18th August and finishing in a blaze of glory (erm...possibly not) down the Mall in front of the Queens pad in London on Sunday 23rd August.

Not only am I missing Vfestival that weekend, but I'm also facing the most difficult physical challenge that little old me has ever been close to considering. And after 6 consecutive days spent in the saddle I'll probably never want to see my bike again. Therefore any donations would be really appreciated and will serve to motivate me while I'm puffing up my 15th hill of the day. You may even get to see some awful pictures.

The days mileages break down as follows:

Day 1: Edinburgh - Berwick = 54 miles
Day 2: Berwick - Newcastle = 73 miles
Day 3: Newcastle - Leeds = 96 miles
Day 4: Leeds - Nottingham = 78 miles
Day 5: Nottingham - Oxford = 105 miles
Day 6: Oxford - London = 62 miles

For those of you that don't know, Right to Play is a great charity that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world. Working in both the humanitarian and development context, Right To Play trains local community leaders as Coaches to deliver its programs in countries affected by war, poverty, and disease in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South America.

So please dig deep and donate now, and then you are allowed to have a good laugh when I return home and can't sit down for a week.
