My name is Sarah McCann, although some of you will know me as Sally. On September the 6th I will be throwing myself out of a perfectly good aeroplane in a bid to help support a charity that is very close to my heart. That charity is Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.
The hospice helps over 3000 patients every year through the 25 bed inpatient unit, the day care centre, the hospital palliative care team at Southampton General Hospital and in care homes and patients own homes through the community clinical nurse specialists. These teams are supported by physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, chaplains, housekeepers and a team of more than 180 volunteers.
The support we give is medical, practical and emotional - ensuring that the needs of patients are met and the quality of their life is maintained and enhanced wherever possible. As well as looking after the needs of patients, support is also given to their families and carers throughout illness and bereavement. Ensuring they too are cared for and supported through this often very difficult time.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
