Hi Guys,

I wanted to tell you about a sponsored swim I'm doing for charity. Having only learnt to swim 6 months ago, I thought what a better way to put my new skills to use and benefit a cause which is close to my heart as I have seen many people who suffer from it; I've come across a close friend who has taken their own life due to the illness.

There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds. That is depression.

Depression can lead to emotional and physical problems to the point people find it difficult to go about their day to day activities and may also feel that life is not worth living, some end up taking their own lives. Nobody should have to feel like that!

In order to raise money for Depression Alliance to help people overcome depression and to create awareness, I will be “swimming for smiles” in April during depression awareness week 2013, I will be swimming two sessions of 50 lengths, a total of 100 lengths.
