At Asthma + Lung UK, our vision is for a world where everyone has healthy lungs. From research and campaigning to advice and support, as the UK’s lung charity we’re on a mission to change the way that lung health is perceived. Because breath is life - and that’s worth fighting for.

Story

On Sunday 26th September 2004, I will be taking part in the Great North Run (the largest half-marathon in the world)

I will be running in memory of my Dad - the bravest man I will ever know. He survived for many years with Emphysema and COPD, and all with only one lung working at 25% capacity.

Please help research into these illnesses by giving a donation to the British Lung Foundation, from the secure link on this site.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Lung Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

During my Dad's illnesses, we all spent a lot of time at Inverclyde Royal Hospital which the government is currently looking to close. Please help to save the hospital by signing the online petition which can be found at http://www.petitiononline.com/saveirh/petition.html Thank you ! Elaine (Tune into BBC1 coverage on the day to spot me in the masses)
