One family. One challenge. One day. 21 miles. 2772 lengths. From the youngests (under 1 years old) to the eldest (possibly approximately 70), together they will swim the channel, without leaving Suffolk...

Up to 25 members of the same family will come together to swim an impressive 21 miles (or 2772 lengths of a 40ft pool), the equivalent of the width of the Channel. Brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents and partners will swim for their lives to raise money for the Environmental Justice Foundation.

The Save the Sea campaign, one of EJF's five campaigns, is working to end the global environmental, social and economic problems and impacts of illegal pirate fishing and bycatch, particularly in West Africa . Illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, or pirate fishing, accounts for 1/3 of the global fish catch, much of which is being sold largely unknowingly in the European and world markets.
It causes massive damage to the marine environment and it is having devastating effects on the livelihoods and important food sources of coastal communities around the world.
EJF works to create local systems for communities, governments and countries to work together to monitor and fight illegal fishing whilst also campaigning for the global implementation of stricter regulations to stop these operators stealing with impunity.

The sponsored Save The Sea Channel Challenge will raise invaluable funds to help EJF continue its work.
You can watch a video about the campaign too. Go to 'videos' on the left column.
