My story

For 10 years I have supported the trust and been a member of the committee. Being part of this fantastic organisation is so rewarding once you get the chance to meet and help the children and families so in need of time and happiness when battling such a terrible illness.

Although I have been part of the Trust for some time, I have never managed to set myself a target more challenging than the annual triathlon, but this year is different !

On the 1st November 2012, I am setting off to the Ecuadorian Rainforest to embark on a brutally physical and mental challenge of kayaking, trekking, rafting and hunting my way through the wilderness to raise money for this great cause.

I will spend 13 days navigating through the Andes and Amazon river, including two national parks and three tribal territories. I will learn to hunt and gather and live from the land as the Indigenous communities do and have done for hundreds of years.

There is no need to mention the dangers involved, Malaria, Snakes, Crocodiles, Piranha, Man eating Spiders, Ants the size of your hands, bugs the size of your head and a million miles from a toilet :(

I am only doing this once guys, so please dig deep, its a big target but easily achievable with your generosity and my extreme fitness... hahahahahahaha   Scott
