Scott's 50k in March 2013 challenge · 9 January 2013

At YBTC, we walk beside anyone impacted by a brain tumour diagnosis through every step of their journey. Our local support brings comfort, care, and hope to families across Yorkshire- while our local research and investment in 'pump priming' brings us closer to kinder treatments and a cure.

Story

Thanks for supporting me in my mission to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire (http://www.btrs.org.uk) - a fantastic charity who have personally helped my wife Susie and I since her diagnosis with a rare and aggressive type of brain tumour last May.

Less than 1% of all funds raised for cancer research goes to brain tumour research, yet brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and more people under the age of 40 than any other cancer.

I am running a 10k race in each of March 2013's five weekends - in Blackpool (2nd), Sheffield (10th), Dronfield (17th), Bradford (24th) and Ennis, Ireland (30th) - 50k in total.  Please sponsor me for completing these races, but if you're with me in setting a further challenge, please donate more if I can run the 50k in under 3 hours 20 minutes - an average of under 40 mins per 10k!

Thank you again and I really appreciate your support - it will go a long way to helping all who are affected by brain tumours.  £60 provides a specialist 1-2-1 'Caring for the carers' session; £240 provides 4 hours of specialist counselling; £3,000 is the cost of keeping the Brain Tumour Research Lab going for 1 day - so please give what you can.
