Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I like cycling. Every now and again I might get on my bike and pootle around. But with some proper training would I be any good at it? Also my shins decided that running wasn't for me last year, and I wanted a serious challenge to do to raise money for RNIB. So cycling John O'Groats to Land's End it is then! Roughly 1000 miles of roads await this June.

I have decided to choose RNIB as the charity to ride for. My dad has Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) that at present is untreatable and in time he will go blind. There is a treatment being available for wet AMD, but my dad has the dry type. Hopefully with time and money RNIB could find a treatment for this type of AMD too and help with the good work that this charity does.
