A close friend of mine, tragically lost his wife to a brain tumour last summer. She was diagnosed with a GBM (Glioblastoma multiforme – which is the most common and most aggressive brain tumour in humans) in the Summer of 2009 and died twelve months later leaving three kids (youngest is 6 years old). Since her passing away, Colin has thrown himself into raising funds for Brain cancer research and has set up a charity called Headcase Cancer Trust, for which Ronnie Irani has become the patron.

Headcase has an initial objective of raising £30,000 year on year to fund research into GBM’s. Colin met with Professor Geoff Pilkington who is the UK’s leading Neuro-Oncologist in the field of brain tumour research. The £30,000 will pay for PhD research in one of Geoff’s laboratories at Universities across the UK. PhD research is absolutely key in helping to find a cure for GBM’s. The reason for funding PhD research year on year is that this person could just be the one that makes a significant breakthrough!

If you are able to sponsor me please do so as all contributions will be gratefully received.
