<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">The story:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">We agreed to jog for half a mile and walk for the other half for each mile.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">We were doing well especially Lisa who ran quite more than I did and Lisa was acting like Radha and my personal trainer, motivating and telling us to keep jogging, until 9th </span><span style="font-size: small;">mile. Strange but true, Radha, Lisa and I were in pain at the SAME time. My knee was in slight pain. Lisa’s knee was in serious pain due to an old injury years ago. Lisa started to limp more and more so she went to the St John ambulance to ask for a bandage or ice – anything to ease the pain so she can continue the course.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">Lisa continued to limp until her 13th </span><span style="font-size: small;">mile – that’s where she realised that it was <span style="text-decoration: underline;">impossible</span> to carry on – her knee completely went. Lisa got really upset, not because of the pain, because she knew she won’t be able to finish the course. She even asked the doctor (on the course) if they have crutches she can use to continue the Marathon!!! The doctor refused to let her continue the Marathon. That was the right decision because unfortunately, she has a torn hamstring. This requires immediate medical attention.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">As for myself, I was really struggling after 14th </span><span style="font-size: small;">mile after seeing other runners who were already on their 21st </span><span style="font-size: small;">mile, knowing they were nearly finished. My whole legs went. My legs were discovering new muscles that I’ve never felt before and turning them into concrete.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">At around 20th </span><span style="font-size: small;">mile, I have to admit that I almost cried while walking and I was that close to give up because I couldn’t run at all as I was in so much pain. I was lucky that David and Emlyn joined me to walk for the last 4 miles – that helped a lot! This is the kind of distraction I really need to be honest! </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">Crossing the finish line at 6:59:19 was definitely worth it, not because I finished the Marathon (well yes in some ways!) this was cos we will be providing African homeless children better homes, health care and education.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">We would like to thank all the supporters for coming to watch and cheer for us, as well as wishing us luck.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">Lastly, we would like to remind you that this is not over. It will be over once we have achieved the target of £3,000.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">Needless to say, please donate for both of us. (Don't forget to click 'Gift Aid' if you're a UK taxpayer!) Lisa and I understand that Lisa did not complete the Marathon but this is for a very good reason. Lisa would have completed the Marathon if it wasn’t for her old injury. Please don’t let this be a reason to donate less. Think of the African children. Lisa’s final message to me was that she will go back on the Marathon once her knee’s sorted. That’s the spirit!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">Many thanks!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;">Seeta & Lisa xx</span></p>
