Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My passion is to drive and support improvements of SEND provision
in local mainstream schools. In education, we are seeing more students being diagnosed with a SEND need whom require specific support and interventions. Within Liverpool and other areas of the UK, there is a shortage in Special Education Schools. As a result, mainstream schools need to adapt and make changes to provide a high-quality education that is inclusive for all students.

The SEND students who attend mainstream schools have a variety
of needs and differ in severity such as, SEMH, Communication & Interaction, Medical, Cognition & Learning and Sensory and Physical needs.

I would love to create a ‘calming’ sensory room. I want to create
an atmosphere that is calming, to soothe emotions, support sensory systems and allow students to regulate themselves, preparing them to be confident and return to a classroom setting or intervention. The sensory room will be situated in a mainstream school in Liverpool. The fundraising money will support the process of equipping the room and have the equipment fitted professionally.

As previously mentioned, the priority will be to support students
with SEND needs however, other students will benefit from the use of a sensory room such as, students who are currently dealing with personal situations, anxiety, depression, grief, and behavioural issues.

Please support me on my sensory fundraising journey. Alternatively, if you are a local business and would prefer to sponsor or donate equipment please get in touch.
