I don't run. Never have. Never planned to. But my great friend Kevin did and he enjoyed it. Tragically and completely without warning, he died after finishing the Birmingham Great Run last year. He had been training all year and was in excellent shape.

I am taking part in this year's half marathon as part of a group of Kevin's family and friends. Please take a few moments to donate to the chosen charity - Cardiac Risk in the Young. It's a properly worthy cause and I will appreciate the added impetus on what will be a heartrending and knee-destroying day.
