Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 5th June 2016, I will be attempting the Dragon Ride - Gran Fondo distance ride in South Wales.

The Dragon Ride is the UK’s most prestigious cycling sportive and combines beautiful rolling Welsh scenery with tortuous climbs across the Brecon Beacons. I have entered the Gran Fondo distance which is a 230KM (143 mile) course.  I'm aiming to complete this distance within 11 hours, however regardless of time targets I will complete the course!

I've signed up for this challenge for a number of reasons:

  1. Yes I like cycling;
  2. Yes I like challenges;
  3. Yes I have Crohns that I and many others want rid of ASAP.

I've had Crohns for 18 years now. This horrible disease has impacted me  in different ways over the years from living with daily pain and discomfort, anaemia, stress & worry, numerous hospitalisations and more recently major surgery.  Unfortunately my beautiful daughter has inherited this condition from her dad and quite frankly I'd rather suffer for her 10 times over than see her fall into the same cycle as me.

I'm asking for donations which will all go towards enabling the Crohn's MAP Vaccine developed by Prof. John Hermon-Taylor to commence human trials. Visit crohnsmapvaccine.com for more info.  Your donation can really help smash the Crohn's MAP Vaccine fundraising target.
