I've been dreading this for the best part of six months, but finally the time is approaching for the Gebrselassie vs Khambata showdown in Berlin. For some reason Haille is a very strong favorite in this head to head (some rubbish about breaking a world record in German Capital last year??) so he's giving me a 2hr 30min head start. Can't help thinking this is a foolish move by the man as although he may be a legend who has broken 27 records, he's not taken heed to my warning's of my spiritual winning link with none other than Daley Thompson... with the ultimate winner on my side, I think I can take advantage of the genorosity of Mr Gebreselassie. Plus now after the initial pacemaker dropped out (Richard 'The Freight Train' Burgess), a more than able comrade has stepped in the form of Mark Spavin (thanks for stepping in at short notice Spav) .
At the same time whilst I have a personal score to settle, it would be wrong for me to attempt this great race without a suitable benefactor. Therefore please help me make my suffering on the streets of Berlin worthwhile by sponsoring me as much or as little as possible and raise some cash for the new Manchester Childrens Hospital.
However I need to be strong in mind and am saving myself for the big one so please give me all the more incentive, whilst also digging deep for a great charity. Thanks for your genorosity in advance.
