Lyke Wake Walk (40 Miles) · 4 June 2010

“We support the relief, care and treatment of premature and sick new born babies in the SCBU at York Hospital, by assisting with the purchase of specialised medical equipment, improving amenities and facilities, supporting parents and siblings and helping with the training of staff on the unit."

Story

This walk is 40 miles over the widest and worst part over the North Yorkshire Moors, It starts at Osmotherly just north of Thirsk and ends in Ravenscar south of Whitby. This is something we have both wanted to do for some years and we are looking to beat my mums record of 17hrs. We have chose 2 charities, this one (York SCBU), and candle lighters. My daughter was admitted to SCBU at birth 2 months early weighing 3lbs and was there 6weeks. The whole team were brilliant and made the whole ordeal alot easier than it could of been. Tilly came on really well and it is all thanks to these people and i think doing a walk like this would be wasted if we couldn't raise a bit of money for a good charity!
