2010 ING New York Marathon · 7 November 2010 ·

Over 100,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Now everyone knows they have a daft streak but Sharon & Katrina have decided to embark on their craziest adventure yet!

Together they are running the New York marathon on 7th November 2010! With just 6 months to do their training.

Sharon the fittest of the two has ran a half marathon back in 2008 and Katrina has struggled with her recent 5km - but together they are determined to run the full 26miles of the New York marathon!! Yep in November .. is it not meant to be cold then?!

Now the training just isnt enough for these girls they have also pledged to raise £5000 for the MS Society Scotland. Thats where you guys come in, please give what you can to this worthwhile cause, the girls really are going to put them through some amount of pain to do this!

The saddening news is that Scotland is one of the countries with the highest number of MS sufferers in the world. Around one in 700 people will be diagnosed with  MS each year. Multiple Sclerosis is a nerve damaging illness that affects both men and women. Some sufferers have an attack that leaves them paralysed, whereas others can recover significantly. The MS Society Scotland supports the rehabilition units across Ayrshire and organises support group meetings and events. So these rehabilitaion units are really needed here in Scotland.

The money raised by Sharon & Katrina will go direct to MS Scotland to help with the recovery and rehabilitation units. So lets raise as much as we can to help keep the facilities and service available to the thousands of sufferers here in Scotland.

Please give generosily for this worthshile cause! Sharon & Katrina will not give up until they raise £5000 and run those 26 miles !!
