<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span></span></span><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">6 weeks ago a friend’s 16 year old daughter, Francesca Sapio, was taken ill and subsequently diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, which is a cancer of the </span></span><a title="The lymphatic system" href="http://www.macmillan.org.uk/Cancerinformation/Cancertypes/LymphomaHodgkin/AboutHodgkinlymphoma/Thelymphaticsystem.aspx"><span style="color: windowtext; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;">lymphatic system</span></span></span></a><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: small;"> and is sometimes called Hodgkin’s disease. </span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">3 weeks ago Francesca started 6 cycles of Chemotherapy at <span style="color: #1c1c1c; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri;">University College Hospital London which</span> will take a minimum of 6 months. The major physical side effect to the Chemotherapy is Alopecia, which you may know as hair loss to the scalp. Over the last 2 days her hair has started to fall out and it is likely that within the next week, she will have lost all of her scalp.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span></span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">Francesca has experienced first-hand the tremendous support that the Teenage Cancer Trust provides to kids going through this and would like to give something back so they can help kids in future who find themselves in a similar situation.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">So there are currently around 30 of us, including 3 women, who will be getting together on the 21st May to partake in the ‘Shave-A-Thon’ where we will shave off all of our hair. We hope this will put a smile on Francesca’s face and raise lost of money for Teenage Cancer Trust.</span></span></span></p>
