We match the very best of the school’s traditions and core values with a forward thinking and innovative approach. We are constantly developing and evolving our curriculum and facilities. We constantly strive to further build on our reputation as one of the best selective grammar schools nationally.

Story

In a moment of sheer brilliance (or madness!), the Music Department at Wycombe High School decided to present the staff and friends of WHS with a challenge; to learn a new instrument and pass a Grade One exam in six months. Participants are being sponsored to raise money for the ‘Play Your Part’ campaign. We at WHS are looking to raise £1.5 million in order to build a new Music block and upgrade our Performing Arts facilities in other parts of the school, work that is desperately needed. The 'Play Your Part' campaign calls on everybody in our school community to use their many talents and skills in order to raise these funds.

I have been Director of Music in this brilliant school for 15 years and I know that our fantastic students more than deserve better facilities in which to discover their potential and share their amazing skills. It's decades since I last learnt to play a 'new' instrument - so I'm up and running with the alto saxophone and intending to go beyond the grade one target! iI am also teaching the piano to some colleagues and will be accompanying other singers and instrumentalists at their exams.

Please give generously so that our future musicians will be able to benefit from the best facilities we can offer them and our local community will be able to share them as well!

Thank you.
