My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This Dressember I'd like to raise some money for UKAMB - the small charity which supports human milk banking in the UK. Its motto is Every Drop Counts - this is true of the money raised too!
We believe that the provision of safe, screened donor breastmilk makes an important contribution to the care of the sick and premature infants who receive it.
UKAMB give practical support to the milk bank staff who co-ordinate the provision of donor breastmilk, and share expertise and good practice throughout the country.
We publish leaflets and support materials, run conferences and study days, and represent milk banking in the UK at a national and international level: our aim is the formation of a national donor breastmilk service that would supply infants across the UK according to prioority of need rather than according to the chance location of that infant's birth.
