Story

Arthritis is not just a disease of old people. Unfortunately about one in a thousand children in the United Kingdom suffer from Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA).

I jumped at the chance to run for the charity as it is a charity very close to my partner and his family. Charlie, my partner, and his mum, Caroline are members of the CCAA committee. Since finding out her daughter Vicky had JIA, as a mother Caroline dedicated her life to the care of her daughter and continues to dedicate herself today by raising awareness and helping the many families suffering with JIA. She is a remarkable woman with an absolute heart of gold, forever putting everyone else before herself.

I wanted to take part in this charity run to show my support to all those on the committee that dedicate their time to this wonderful charity, and also help build awareness of arthritis in children nationally.

I am really looking forward to taking part but a little nervous at the moment as I have only just started my training. Having had a baby 3 months ago I also have some baby weight to shift, so hopefully this will also help me get fit again! ;-)
