My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 15th April I will be attempting to run 26.2 miles in my first ever marathon! I'm hoping to raise money for 'Contact the Elderly' - an excellent chartity that helps support vulnerable elderly people through-out the UK.
I have previously been involved with this chartity as a volunteer, and witnessed first-hand the great work that they do & support they provide to elderly people. A huge number of elderly people through-out the UK live far from their family and the work that this charity does is a life-saver for them. The charity offers everything from a friendly chat for lonely people, help with organising finances / healthcare, as well as monthly 'tea-parties' which provide a much needed chance to socialise with others from the local area. All of this is done without government assistance so donations are essential for the charity to keep going.

We organise regular, monthly tea parties on a Sunday afternoon in the homes of our volunteers across the UK. These outings are a ray of light in the lives of older people living alone; giving them something to look forward to in the knowledge that someone cares and the opportunity to make new and lasting friendships with fellow guests and our volunteers. </p> <p>Contact the Elderly is a registered charity in England and Wales (244681) and in Scotland (SC039377) </p>
