Royal Parks Half Marathon 2010 · 10 October 2010 ·

We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

On Sunday 10th October, six Shelter employees will be pounding the paths of the London ’s Royal Parks, to raise money for Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon is 13.1 miles along London's beautiful parks and major landmarks.

For most of the group it’s the furthest we have ever run and we  need as much  support as possible to reach our £2000 sponsorship target.  Any gifts, however small, are gratefully received and will really help us to keep motivated on the long road to the finish!

Don’t forget to keep checking this page to catch up with all the fundraising events we’ve got planned, which at the time of writing include a summer fete and breakfast feasts, with lots more to come! You can also see how close we are to reaching our target.

Thank you very much for your support.

Here's a bit more information about Shelter our chosen charity

We live in one of the richest countries in the world, yet millions of people in Britain are struggling to meet their housing costs. Tens of thousands more wake up every day in housing that is run-down, overcrowded or dangerous. Many others have lost their home altogether. The desperate lack of decent, affordable housing is robbing us of security, health, and a fair chance in life.

Shelter believes everyone should have a home. We help more than 170,000 people a year fight for their rights, get back on their feet, and find and keep a home. We also tackle the root causes of bad housing by campaigning for new laws, policies, and solutions
