Story

Thanks for your time and attention!

When my very dear friend, Ahmed Osman passed away it was a terrible blow to us all.  He was just 32 and although he'd lived with Diabetes for years, his death was a complete shock.

I was left feeling as though I wanted to give him something back, show him how much he meant to me and ultimately do something in his name.  On the day of his funeral, I made a promise to him to get into the Marathon and run it for Diabetes UK.  On my first attempt at gaining a ballot place, I was accepted and am convinced he made it happen (he'd never let me get away with a promise like that!)

So here I am, running my heart out to raise funds for a fantastic organisation who are working towards a future without Diabetes.

It's been blinking tough and there's a long way to go (please check out my blog to keep up to date with just how much pain I'm in http://www.realbuzz.com/blogs/u/SherryNewts/i-m-a-marathon-virgin/) but if my little bit of effort and your generous donations help to keep one person alive, keep one family from losing someone they love or help those that are living with the condition have hope, then it will all be worth it.

Even if I cross the finishing line like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTn1v5TGK_w

Thank you so so much for your support, good karma aplenty for you xxx

Ooh and PS please remember to tick gift aid xxx
