The Bone Cancer Research Trust is the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer. Our mission is to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer through research, information, awareness and support.

Story

On the 8th December 2010, our lovely daughter Jess died aged 14 years from Osteosarcoma, a form of primary bone cancer. Jess was a happy, friendly, positive person who was full of life and much loved by everyone who knew her. Over one year later, we still find it hard to believe that she is no longer here with us. It is a struggle every day to live without her and we want to do what we can to help other children and their families to avoid this heartbreak.

Last May, a group of Jess' family and friends walked the West Highland Way to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust. We have been overwhelmed by the incredible support and donations we have received to reach the above amount. We couldn't have done it without the help of so many friends and family who have done additional fundraising of their own to add to our total. Thank you to everyone who has donated or got involved in memory of Jess.

This year our Walk for Jess will be along part of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in Wales. We have happy memories of a holiday here with Jess and her sister Issy. We are still finalising the details and will post an update as soon as we can but are looking forward to another challenge. Walking the whole of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is said to be the equivalent of walking up and down Everest. Hopefully we will have better weather than the gale force winds and driving rain that we faced in Scotland last year!

Primary bone cancers are the most common form of cancer to affect children, teenagers and young adults. Please help us to continue to raise as much money as possible to support BCRT and the research that will one day prevent tragedies like ours.

With a lot of love and thanks, Team Jess xxxx
