<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p>I must be crackers but in April and May this year, I will be riding my bike, with a couple of chums,&nbsp;2000 miles from Mobile Alabama up to Canada.&nbsp; The route will follow the historic "Underground Railroad" route.(This&nbsp;was an&nbsp;<strong> </strong>informal network of secret routes and safe houses used by 19th-century black slaves in the United States to escape to free states and Canada.)</p> <p>Though&nbsp;these days&nbsp;things are very different in the USA,&nbsp;sadly, slavery is <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>not</strong></span> history.&nbsp; It continues today, although it may be given a different label.&nbsp; Women from eastern Europe are bonded into prostitution, children are trafficked between West African countries and men are forced to work as slaves on Brazilian agricultural estates.</p> <p>So&nbsp;whilst I'm getting a numb bum, I have decided to try to raise &pound;1 for every mile I ride for Anti-Slavery International and&nbsp;I hope you will sponsor me a mile or two.&nbsp;My trip is entirely self-financed.&nbsp;Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.&nbsp;Anti-Slavery International will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK tax, an extra 28% will be added to your gift at no cost to you.</p>
