So somehow I have managed to get myself entered into the Run to the Beat half marathon this Sunday (27th September 2009) and cant come up with an excuse to get out of it.
I realised I needed some motivation and in the end it was easy. Just over 6 years ago my youngest son, Sachin was diagnosed with a heart defect before his 3rd birthday in March 2003. He had a successful operation with no problems and has thrived since, you just wouldn’t know. The people at the Evelina childrens ward, London Guys & St Thomas hospital were absolutely amazing but I never really made the effort before to give them something back.
So it would be great if you can sponsor me and all funds I raise will go to the Evelina ward. Little things like books and toys as well as accommodation for parents to stay with their kids make all the difference.
This is the first run I've done over an hour so I guess its going to be nasty! Please dig deep and it will help me be motivated to finish.
