I have taken on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowden on September 13 2014 in order to raise money for the English registered charity Islamic Help (an international charity dedicated to helping those suffering from natural disaster and hardship around the world). Whilst Islamic Help have various campaigns running, all funds raised as part of my climb will go towards Islamic Helps' "Gaza Emergency Appeal".

Following the July 2014 outbreak of fighting, over 2,000 men, women and children of Gaza have been killed, hundreds wounded and thousands of people left in dire need of medical aid, food and water. Islamic Helps have teams on the ground in Gaza, and together with local agencies, are looking to raise funds to provide supplying medicines and medical aid (including dressings, painkillers, drips and equipment to treat conflict wounds and injuries) in addition to emergency survival kits comprising living items like cooking equipment, blankets and sleeping bags.

Mount Snowden is the highest mountain in Wales at an elevation of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands.
