<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.</p> <p><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 10pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;"> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 11.5pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">I am going to attempt to run the Adidas 5K Women&rsquo;s Challenge in Hyde Park in London on 11<sup>th</sup> September to raise money for <strong>Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK</strong> in honour of my daughter Clara and other girls around the world suffering from Rett Syndrome.</span></p> <p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 11.5pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;">Imagine the symptoms of autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, Parkinson&rsquo;s disease and severe anxiety disorders in one little girl...<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>Rett Syndrome is</span><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 11.5pt;"> the most common genetic cause of severe disability in females and yet not many people have heard of it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>My daughter Clara who is now 7 has this rare neurological disorder.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>She developed normally for the first year of her life and then started to lose all her skills one by one which was so distressing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>She is unable to walk, talk or use her hands.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; font-size: 11.5pt;">Rett Syndrome is potentially curable. It is the only brain disorder to have been reversed in mice, by Professor Adrian Bird at Edinburgh University. The Rett Syndrome Research Trust UK has one sole aim which is to accelerate treatments and a cure for Rett Syndrome.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>All funds raised will go straight towards research and finding the cure.
