Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
As I'm sure many of you are aware for many years now I have been very vocal on how stupid I feel the 'sport' of skydiving is.
If you can't check your equipment will keep you aloft before you leave then you shouldn't!! (thus paragliding seems ok). Having said that I have had a pretty tough time after getting post concussion syndrome earlier in the year and many friends, colleagues and family members did so much to help me I thought that this would be a great way of helping others in the DIY industry that equally need help.
There are 17 volunteers taking part and all of us will be doing a tandem jump at the British Army Parachute Association training centre at Netheravon, Wiltshire, right in the middle of the MOD's training facilities on Salisbury Plain.
The purpose of the jump is to raise much-needed funds for the DIY industry charity the Rainy Day Trust, and each member of the team has undertaken to raise £1,000 - I'm a late addition so I will be doing my best but hope to make it to £500!!
So yes I'm seriously scared of heights and will be jumping out of a plane at a height of 13,500 ft and doing a 45-second freefall at 120mph before the parachute is deployed.
Not only that but I will be getting the video as proof that a grown man can scream like a school girl for two minutes without stopping for breath!!
Surely this has got to be worth a bit of support!!!????
As little or as much as you can would be great.
Thanks in advance
