Story
On the 27th August 2010, myself and a number of friends will be cycling from Edinburgh to London (via Gretna, York and Peterborough - 440 miles in 4 days). Please donate whatever you can, to a charity that is very important to me.
On April 12th 2008, one of my closest friends, Sarah Howard, died in a tragic bus accident in Ecuador, while leading a volunteer group into a remote region of the country to renovate a day care centre.
Sarah moved to Peru in 2001 to work in an orphanage for homeless children. She entered the home as a volunteer and quickly became an older sister to the children. A year later, her dedication to these children found its shape in the form of Puentes: Closing the Gap - www.puentesperu.co.uk. The energy and enthusiasm that Sarah demonstrated in everything she did have enabled Puentes to reach out to more children in more group homes across Lima during the past six years. What she helped set up has truly made a difference in these children's lives.
In memory of Sarah and her adventurous spirit the Sarah Howard Outward Bound Adventure Fund was created. The money you donate will enable the homeless children whom she cared so deeply for to enjoy the wilderness adventures that she loved so much.
Please give what you can xx
