My story

Silks jumps....

Here we go...so I've set myself a challenge this January to let go of all negative things that hold me back from achieving what I truly want in life.  For anyone who doesn't know me that well, I like to stay in control majority of the time. Therefore literally jumping into the unknown and trusting a robe with my life felt like a great idea (at the time, yay!!) To top it off, I am also scared of heights, so I guess jumping off a 300ft crane adds to the personal challenge!Gathered enough personal information about me...anyways it's all for a good cause.

Considering it's a challenge I thought raising money off the back of it and letting a local non-profit organisation benefit would be a great idea. And here is where I am asking for your support! I've looked for a charity that benefits people close to where we live and remembering the  London riots in 2011, I thought supporting a London based Youth Charity would be the right thing to raise money for. I truly believe that if we actually actively help and see the potential our Youth has rather than looking away and ignoring the problem, would enable us to make a change in our own society and more so in our own local community.

I've listed below the charities values which I think are spot on to really transform the way we live:

XLP’s projects are delivering three clear outcomes:

1.Transformed attitudes and behaviours of young people towards their families, peers and teachers.

2. A raised sense of self-worth, self-esteem and increased educational achievement, which helps them confidently and positively contribute to their communities.

3.Encouraged young people who have fresh goals and work hard to achieve them, and who are empowered to make wise lifestyle choices.

I would like you to donate as much as you can for this cause, as it's right outside your own doorstep and because it's the future you're supporting and investing in!
