Story

I've got Alstrom Syndrome, which means that I am visually impaired and hearing impaired.  They say there are lots of other really horrid things that could go wrong with my body, too, but for the moment I'm pretty fit, and I mean to keep it that way.  Anyway, me and my sister are joining in the big cycling bid, which is meant to raise funds for Alstrom young adults to do more social stuff together.  It's not easy to socialise when you can't see or hear too well, so the group want us to be able to go away together and help each other to be social.  That's why they've organised this cycle ride to get us going and to try and get some funds for us.  I've got no idea whether I'll manage the whole thing, since I've never done long-distance cycling, and my sister's never steered a tandem, but we thought we'd give it a try, just for the lark.  Wish us luck!
