Millie swimathon · 18 April 2013

Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely. We are a home from home for our patients and their families, and provide round-the-clock care in a warm, loving environment.

Story

My name is Millie and I am 8 years old. I swim with Maxwell Academy and have just moved up to silver level.

I live with my Mum, Dad and big sister, Hannah.

A nice lady from Helen and Douglas House recently visited my school, St Mary’s in Fairford Leys near Aylesbury, to tell us about the work they do for poorly children.

I want to raise money to help these children, as I know what it is like to be poorly but get better. I just can't imagine what it would be like to be poorly and never get better.

I asked my Mum and Dad if I could raise some money for the children and they said "YES".

I have decided I would like to do this by swimming 4,000m during the half term holiday.

I would really like to raise £300 and hope you will help me.

 My 5 point challenge:

1.            1 reason............. To help poorly children

2.            2 houses ~ Helen & Douglas

3.            Raise £300

4.            Swim 4,000m (2.48 miles)

5.            5 days to complete the challenge

Thank you for helping me help the poorly children
