Three years ago we lost our first daughter, Cara, to Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.  It was a terrible time for both Nancy and I but with the help of our families, friends and ASBAH (Association for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus) we managed to make it through.

Both Nancy and I ran the Great Manchester Run two years ago in aid of ASBAH and I've decided to get my shorts and trainers on again for this year's Great South Run in Portsmouth.  Nancy will be looking after our second daughter Eve whilst they cheer me around the course. 

The run is this weekend (on Sunday), it's a 10 mile run and I 'm asking you to wipe the dust from your piggy banks, look in the back of your sock drawer and pull out all of your change (and notes hopefully) and donate some money to a fantastic charity.  Here's the official paragraph coming up. . . .
