Together with a group of friends I have taken on the challenge of cycling the length of Britain in just 9 days in September this year.  That's 969 miles at an average of 110 miles a day, sleeping overnight in a tent. Whilst I enjoy cycling, as someone in his mid-fifties, this is a truly daunting endeavour.....and one which is taking a huge amount of training for - spending many challenging hours in the saddle cycling up and down some very big hills!

I am doing it in aid of a wonderful cause very close to my heart. For Lucie is a family run charity set up in memory of my niece and God Daughter who was taken from us when only 16 days old by meningitis.  All money raised will help the fight against this cruel disease in the form of real tangible support for families going through similar painful experiences, as well as contributing to research into ways to eradicate it. 

Any contribution big or small will make such a difference and motivate me as I painfully grind out the miles both in training and especially during the event.
