Story

Hi and thanks for taking the time to visit my donations page.

Charlie (my wife) and I are taking part in the Sun Walk, Walk the Walk - a 13 mile hike in aid of breast cancer.

Reasons to sponsor me:

1) It's a very good cause

2) I'll be wearing a bra. And in public, not at one of the specialist clubs I usually frequent

3) I'll also be wearing a pink cap and T-shirt. Basically, I'm putting forward my humiliation as the primary motivator for your sponsorship here

4) 13 miles may not sound much but:

a) I've got a dodgy hip

b) my knees aren't great either

c) I've never walked in a bra before

d) OK, that's not strictly true

e) It could be really hot at the weekend, in which case I'll be risking exposure, heat stroke, sunburn and embarrassing tan lines

f) Or it could be stormy, in which case risking drowning, lightning strikes and embarrassing trip to A&E while wearing a bra

g) although they were really very nice when I had a fall in my patent slingbacks last year

h) if I'm honest, my preprations have lacked focus. With no sign of 'Wii Charity Walk' any time soon, I had to improvise. I've driven the route slowly, drinking water from a bottle and imagining being tired. My underpreparedness means it really will be a challenge worthy of your backing

i) have you ever walked for three hours surrounded by hundreds of women? just maintaining small talk is going to be exhausting

5) HRH The Prince of Wales is the charity's patron. Although don't expect a pic of him in a bra. And if I did find one, I'm selling it to the tabloids. And ok, yes, donating the money to the charity...

So there you go. No further incentive required. Please sponsor generously.

Thanks a million

Simon
