I am running the 3 Spires half marathon again this year in support of the Katharine House Hospice. The hospice supports those people with life-threatening illnesses whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment. It is an independent sector hospice and relies largely on charitable donations for funding, receiving only about 35% of its costs from the local Primary Care Trusts. No charge is made to patients or their families for any of the care provided.
