Firstly, thanks for even visiting this page.  

A lot of people have sponsored me for different challenges in the last few years and now I have decided to do something in memory of my friend Paul.

The Brighton Marathon might not sound as big as the London, but it is still 26.2 miles.  I'll still be up early and training through all weather in the winter to get fit to do as fast a race as possible.  And it still means a hell of a lot to be running it for an important cause.

Paul was my friend.  Just like me really.  We worked together in India.  We played golf together.  We got married within a year of each other and we began raising our young families together - with our youngest daughters born just a day apart.  

But Paul committed suicide before ever seeing his little girl.

Nobody on the planet knew how Paul was feeling and his death came straight out of the blue for everyone. 

So I want to do something that supports the work Mind is doing to help people identify, learn about and live with all forms of mental illness. I don't want any other young families to go through what Pauls beautiful family went through.  I don't want other people to lose husbands, dads, sons, brothers or friends the way we did when Paul died.  

Doing nothing isn't good enough, so I hope that doing this little run makes a bit of a difference.
