I am running the Mayor's 10km in Enfield on Sunday 11th September to raise funds for the Nightingale Trust. The Nightingale is a local resource providing support to people affected by cancer. Throughout Hannah's illness I became aware of how important the palliative care aspect of living with cancer is - from a range of practical services, alternative therapies and counselling services - without that the day to day would have been unthinkable.
The fact is that there will be tens of thousands trying to live with cancer for many years to come and the palliative care is and will remain vital. As a widowed single parent The Nightingale continue to provide support to the family and I'd like you to help me acknowledge how import that was to Hannah and I and continues to be for George, Stanley and I.
